4. Fees and Payment
Our fees are set out in individual engagement letters. Unless otherwise agreed:
- Fees are quoted in Euros, exclusive of German VAT (Umsatzsteuer) at 19%
- Government disbursements (notary fees, court fees, registry fees) are charged at cost
- Payment is due within 14 days of invoice
- Late payment interest of 9% above the ECB base rate applies under §288(2) BGB
5. Limitation of Liability
Our liability is limited as follows:
- We are liable without limitation for intentional acts and gross negligence
- For ordinary negligence, liability is limited to foreseeable damages typical for the contract
- Liability for indirect damages, loss of profit, and consequential losses is excluded to the maximum extent permitted by law
- Our maximum aggregate liability for any single matter shall not exceed the fees paid for that matter
